Hansel and Gretel
Hansel and Gretel are a pair and will be adopted together.
They were rescued together, from the same cage, in a puppy-mill raid and are constant playmates and companions.
Hansel is a spunky, playful dog. He loves walks on leash and is fine with children he has met during his walks. Hansel loves car rides, enjoys sharing the couch with his foster mom and loves time on the lap.
Gretel, who is slightly shy of strangers, enjoys all the same activities as Hansel and is the boss of him. At her last vet visit, Gretel weighed 9.2 pounds; Hansel is slightly larger.
Both suffered from mange at the puppy mill. However, Hansel has already recovered fully and Gretel is very nearly there. Hansel and Gretel spend work-week days in an exercise pen in their foster’s kitchen. When their foster mom is home, Hansel and Gretel have the run of the house and back yard: playing with each other and her two small dogs, ignoring her cats, and loving the routine.
Hansel and Gretel are working on their housetraining — they use puppy pads during the day, and are beginning to signal to their foster when it is time to go outside by standing at the back door. Hansel and Gretel are great eaters (dry kibble mixed with carrots/beans and chicken).
They have adjusted to family life quickly and wonderfully well. These happy dogs are loves and will make you laugh every day!
